First Flight

This past Christmas, I gave Thomas a gas powered airplane. He had been wanting one for some time, so I surprised him with one as his Christmas present. The plane did not come put together. Thomas and I worked on it here and there, but to finish it up he had the man that sold me the plane finish the last couple of steps. I bought the plane, at a local hobby shop and the owner has been super helpful to Thomas. Thomas, picked the plane up last weekend and his first flight was Friday. A man that I work with and the owner of the hobby shop, took him out to show him the ropes. Just FYI, this hobby is very technical. There is a lot more to it than just flipping a switch and the plane takes off. I am glad that these two men like to teach those that are interested in learning. Here are some pictures from the FIRST FLIGHT. We were in the field by a local church. Preston and I came to watch.

Robert has a remote that can connet to a "trainee's" remote and he can "take over" the flight when needed
Flying High in the Sky
And higher still...It was at least 100 to 200 feet in the air!

Coming in for landing

The plane after the 1st flight. It lost a wheel when it landed, but thankfully we found it. (excuse the shadow of me and Preston)

The Second Take-Off

Carrying his plane back to the truck

And this is what we saw when we first pulled up...a turkey!
