One CRAZY week

Thankful for:
*On call worked until after 11:00pm, but once I got home I didn't have to come back (I am really getting tired of these call nights, but my check likes them)
*Thankful for my husband who got up out of bed to talk with me when I got home

Thankful for:
*Getting to go home early
*Thomas taking the day off early to spend time with me
*Went to a going away party for a coworker, she had worked 25 years at that crazy place, the hospital throws her a going away party, somehow us workers in surgery did not find out about it until the morning of and they forgot to call the honoree...how's that for organization? ha, ha

Thankful for:
*I now have the same kind of spot on my leg that Preston had that required surgery, had the doctor look at it, he wrote for me some antibiotics
*Leg started hurting pretty bad, finally at 4:30pm I asked if I could go home (I am supposed to go home at 3:00pm when not on call or not the late person...which I was not assigned as either), so my supervisor came in and relieved me
*The MD's PA for checking on me...by night fall the redness and swelling had almost tripled in size...yikes!!!

Thankful for:
*A few days of R&R that I had had scheduled for months now...but now glad I had the time off because of my leg
*The doctor's office checking on me and then scheduled me to come in at 4:00pm
*Had a little minor surgery in MD's office...numbed the area and then opened it, and left it opened and packed it...thank goodness for numbing medicine
*the numbing medicine lasting several hours

Thankful for:
*Getting first dressing change done at MD's office, it went better than expected, then got an excuse to be off until the wound heals/closes/dries up, will probably take a week or so to do, not the way I dream of having a week off but oh well
*Thankful for PTO and Extended Sick Leave so I can be paid while being off
*Took a prescription pain pill...they make me so sick to my stomach...thankful that advil works just fine...I would rather something sting a little than be nauseated for several hours
*That my mother in law come home a day early, picked up her little dog that we had been watching for her, brought Preston a souviner, and me some flowers

Thankful for:
*Seeing my parents today even if it was for a short amount of time
*my second dressing change went better than it expected...I did it myself with a little help from Thomas
*watching Cars today with Preston instead of Toy Story or My Friends Tigger and Pooh
*Paula Deen's chocolate butter cake (found at Wal-Mart bakery in container with 2 pieces) can you say Yummm!
