One Hard Week

Monday, November 29, 2010
Thankful for:
*back to work...good day
*thinking of several meals for the week
*okra and tomatoes for dinner...yumm
*Thomas suggesting we put up an artificial tree this year...yeah for me...pre-lit tree was purchased and up it went

Tuesday, November 30, 2010
Thankful for:
*a hard day at work is over
*decorating the Christmas tree but sad that I did not get to use ANY of my Hallmark ornaments due to a certain curious little boy
*my nutcrackers are up and guarding the living room from atop the entertainment center
*stockings hung on the mantel
*even though I was extremely tired and frustrated after work, I still managed enough energy to cook dinner, clean the kitchen then decorate the Christmas tree

Thankful for:
*the awesome faith in God that my Aunt Linda and Uncle Troy have and have shown others by example
*being on call and not having to go back to work
*starting Preston's Advent calendar, count down to Christmas, he calls it his Christmas tree prize

Thursday, December 2, 2010
Thankful for:
*my Uncle Troy is no longer suffering and is now smiling in Heaven, sadden that he is no longer with us on Earth, sad for my Aunt and his children and grandchildren, but happy to know that he is in a much better place
*the nurses that stayed with my Uncle and Aunt as he passed, Troy knew he was going to die and made the decision to turn off his oxygen because he knew it was time, thankful for the nurse who stood at his side with his oxygen to give back to him should he want it, thankful for the male nurse that was in the room and sang "Amazing Grace" as my Uncle went to Heaven, thankful for my Aunt and cousin who also displayed amazing faith and grace and understanding and stood by as Troy went on peacefully
*my family
*God's grace

Thankful for:
*TGIF
*a very looong day at work is over
*Thomas having Preston bathed when I got home
*an MRI scheduled next Thursday on my ankle

Thankful for:
*pictures with Santa are done and ordered, at first Preston wanted nothing to do with Santa, then Santa "disappeared" Preston finally relaxed and sat in the chair, and Santa came up behind the chair, and several really good shots were taken...thank you Jeff Scott, you are amazing and so patient!
*Christmas tree decorating party at my mother in laws...we had a really good time, and her tree is so pretty
*mid-day mimosas
*Christmas tree skirt is complete!!!

So sorry to hear about your uncle, Julie and Amanda. And although sad, his passing sounded beautiful and perfect at the same time. Prayers for you and yours!
